Making Change... is a project organized by homeless and housed people. Our mission is to educate the public about poverty from homeless people’s perspective and to provide an income for people who need one to improve their quality of life, or to transition off the streets.

Some find our material depressing or angry, and that is probably because we are not here to provide a comfortable environment. We aim to stimulate conversations to end homelessness and inspire volunteerism. We also provide an income to people who want to change their situation and challenge social services to become more effective. We hope that providing the space for expression will transform the situation ultimately into positive solutions. That is what we strive for - in the end result.

We don’t always agree with our writers, but we do provide a forum for their voices that are often not provided by mainstream media. We welcome articles, artwork, poetry and letters for publication. We participate in a larger movement of street papers around the world that do what we do. Submit your photo or submission to
                                    editor[at]hopemakingchange.org

We appreciate the on-going support of Small World Bookstore and hope you will peruse their selection of reading materials. The time they spend on our vendors enables homeless people to challenge and change their situation. Their contribution as a distributor location, is one of many actions they take in making a difference in their community.

If you would like to become a distribution site - it is easy. Making the paper available to vendors, increases a vendor’s potential to get off the streets or to improve their quality of life. Please e-mail
